INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS
Great finds at our store start with great donations: please help us by only donating clean, working, intact and safe items.
To help you make smart donation decisions here’s a list of the kind of items we can and can’t accept. If you’re unsure…just call us at 604 876 3731.
PLEASE…..
1. Donations are accepted during store hours only (Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
2. Do not leave any items at the store when we’re closed
3. Drop off items at the back of the store where there is ample free parking

2535 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V5K 1Z2. We don’t provide donation pick-up services.
WE ACCEPT:
- clothing for men, women and children (ideally freshly washed, folded and in CLEAR bags or totes…we’ll give you your tote back)
- accessories (shoes, belts, hats, scarves etc.)
- small furniture items (best to call us first as space at the store is limited)
- household items (kitchenware, plates, cups, mugs, cutlery, etc)
- books (fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks etc. NO textbooks or encyclopedias)
- linens (blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, tablecloths etc.)
- jewelry including watches, brooches and charms
- records (including 78s and 45s), VHS tapes, CD’s and DVD’s
- small sporting goods (snowboards, skis & poles, skates. Call us if you’d like to donate a bike)
- baby toys
- working small microwaves, toaster ovens, mixers
- quality garage sale leftovers
WE DO NOT ACCEPT:
- mattresses, box springs, day beds or bed frames, futons or Hide-a-Beds
- furniture (space at the store is limited)
- computers, laptops, printers or fax machines
- TV, stereo systems, VCR’s or DVD players
- large appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washer/dryer etc.)
- baby equipment (bassinets, baby cribs, mattresses, diaper genie etc.)
- pianos, organs, keyboards
- kids’ bike helmets (they have expiry dates)
- hockey gear inc helmets, pads etc
- stationary bikes, large exercise equipment or running machines
- vacuum cleaners of any kind
CORPORATE DONATIONS
We are happy to accept donations of sample clothing, excess inventory, unsold merchandise and any other items you may have to give: please call us first so we can facilitate this type of donation
Please remember that all donations need to be clean and in good condition and electronics and appliances have to be in working order. We do not have the resources to clean or repair donated items. As space is limited, *ALL furniture must be approved by the Store Manager via email vghthriftstore@shawbiz.ca with a photo before donation.
Note: We do not accept items that would be considered hazardous, have been recalled, or violated other government rules concerning the reselling of used goods.
